NON Alcoholic Halloween Brews..
Note to Witches and Wizards

Melissa’s
Mishmash
1 green apple, cored and chopped
3 carrots, peeled and
chopped
1 mango, peeled and stoned
150ml freshly squeezed orange juice,
chilled
6 strawberries, sliced
Slices or orange, to decorate
Brewing method
Place the apple, carrots and mango in a
blender or food processor and process to a pulp.
Add the orange juice and
strawberries and process again.
If liked, strain well through a sieve,
pressing the juice with the back of a spoon. Discard any pulp left in the
sieve.
Pour the drink into tumblers filled with ice cubes and serve
immediately, decorated with a slice of orange.
Cruella’s Citrus
COCKTAIL
2 oranges, washed
1 lemon, washed
15g caster
sugar
75ml water
Slices of orange and lemon, to decorate
Brewing method
Pare the rind from the citrus fruits with
a knife, leaving the pith. Remove and discard the pith.
Put the rind in a pan
with the sugar and water. Heat gently, stirring, until the sugar has
dissolved.
Away from the heat, press the rind against the sides of the pan to
release the oils. Let the syrup cool. Discard the rind.
Purée the oranges and
lemon and sweeten the fruit pulp by adding the cooled citrus syrup. Leave 2-3
hours for the flavours to infuse.
Strain the pulp, pressing the solids with
the back of a spoon to extract as much of the juice as possible.
Pour into a
tall glass filled with finely crushed ice and decorate with a slice or orange
and lemon.
HAGATHA’S HORROR
potion
115G/4oz Galia, honeydew or
watermelon
5 small red seedless grapes
70ml unsweetened red grape
juice
Brewing method
Put the melon and grapes
in a blender and process until they form a smooth purée.
Add the red grape
juice to the blender and process for another minute.
Strain the fruit juice
into a glass filled with ice and stir until the juice is well chilled.
Pour
into a chilled glass and serve.
Gruesome Gunther’s
Gunge
1 very ripe banana, sliced
125ml pineapple juice
45ml
coconut cream
1 scoop of pineapple sorbet or 125ml of canned crushed
pineapple
1 scoop crushed ice
Brewing method
Place all the ingredients into the blender and blend on high until
smooth.
Pour into chilled glass.
BELLA’S
BERRY
BREW
4oz strawberries, sliced
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon
creamed coconut
1 tablespoon clear honey
Sparkling mineral water, to
dilute
Brewing method
Place the strawberries
in a small saucepan with the water, coconut and honey.
Cook over a low heat
until the strawberries are mushy, breaking them up with the side of a spoon as
they cook.
Push the mixture through a sieve and chill.
Dilute to the
required consistency with sparkling mineral water and serve.
Bonecrusher Boris’s blueberry fizz
30g blueberries or
bilberries, fresh or canned in their own juice
30g blackcurrants, fresh or
canned
150ml blueberry fizzy drink or soda water
1 scoop crushed
ice
Brewing method
Put the berries and
currants into a blender and blend with a little water (or their own juice if
canned) until puréed.
Sieve the purée through a nylon sieve.
Put the
mixture into a glass half-filled with ice and top off with the fizzy drink or
soda water.
